THE CLOSET! (insert horror music here)

I got an itch this past weekend to clean out a certain closet.  It’s that ‘special closet’ where you put things when you don’t really know where else to put them.  Come on…admit it…you have one of those closets too…and probably a drawer or two just like it.  Mine would make Fibber McGee and Molly’s closet look organized!

These closets of ours are full of stuff.  Stuff we haven’t seen or used in years.  In fact, truth be told, you probably couldn’t name five specific things that reside in them.  Well I couldn’t remember all the stuff that was in my closet either.  I figured if I couldn’t name what I had packed away in there, I must not need it very badly.  So…with boxes and trash sacks in hand, I opened the door….

I found all kinds of things I had forgotten about.  An ancient racquetball racquet that was beyond repair, a box of single socks (in hopes the mates would be found and reunited perhaps?), old puzzles that I’ll never put together again, half a granola bar (that explains the ants) and a myriad of other unusable odds and ends.

But you know what I found a BUNCH of?  T-Shirts.  Seems that every event I go to or participate in has t-shirts.  And most of them would fit a much larger person than me.  While we love to do t-shirts (of all sizes) we’d love for you to consider other giveaways as well. 

One thing you might consider are one of the many different types of bags and totes we have available.  Small duffles are great for the gym or to stick extra shoes in to take to the office.  We have smaller totes that are perfect for your lunch and a book, and we have other types of bags that would be good for papers, file folders and notebooks.  We have a bag for EVERY thing!

Hangin' with the Farmer Dudes...

I spent several hours at a trade show this week.  It was the 56th Iowa Power Farming Show to be exact!  Thousands of good people who grow our food and raise livestock come together from all corners of the mid-west to see the latest in everything from the natural fertilizers and soil enhancers that Calcium Products provides to see what good ol’ John Deere’s latest model will do for them. 

Testosterone was rockin’ the place with the majority of the crowd being about 98% men all clad in their Wranglers and Carhartts.  With three huge buildings all full of big boy toys, beer and brats, it was like a giant indoor Disney Land for farmers! 

The plus side to being one of the few women there….NO lines for the ladies room!! 

As I wandered the show, I of course noticed the promotional giveaways at each booth.  There were a lot of the usual….pens, key chains, notepads and koozies.  Those are all nice and useful items, but what if there were other things that might help you stand out just a bit more? 

Suppose you had a booth for some type of machinery…you’re promotional item could be a small screw driver or tape measure with your logo and website on it. 

Maybe you sell fertilizer or perhaps planting or harvesting machinery….you could give away a water bottle holder that hooks to your belt with a nifty carabineer (that just happens to have your website and phone number on it)!  Those hard workin' guys (and gals) get thirsty out in the fields you know!

There are so many other things…box cutters, lighted key chains, bottle openers…even golf tees!  The possibilities are endless!

Snow What?

Snowmageddon, snowpocalypse, snOMG….or whatever you choose to call it…it’s here.  Like it or not, we got us some snow and a lot of it!

Allow me to give you a suggestion:  SNOW. SCRAPER.

Who cut the cheese?  Well…WE did! *giggle* AND we’re not going to stop!

A New Year and a New Pair of Bell Bottoms...

One more to go and the holidays will be over.  Whew!  What a whirlwind of parties, gifts and food!  We now have more stuff in our closets and more ‘waist’ around our middles.

Like most Americans, it’s the time of year to renew.  We clean out closets and vow to become more organized, and don’t forget the diet and exercise promises we make to ourselves.

Most people I know make a New Year resolution or two.  For instance, my fun twitter friend, @MrErv vows to wear bell bottoms every day this next year.  Ah…our dear MrErv…

It's Hat Season!

I attempted to look up how much body heat escapes from the top of our heads.  I got everything from 20% to 90% to ‘it’s all a myth’.  All I do know is that when I have a hat on my head, I stay warmer all over!

And….once again, ‘hat season’ is upon us! 

Most of us love wearing a jaunty head piece….unlike our little kitty friend, 'Boofy'.  Seems his mom (one of our employees) thought it would be cute for their Christmas picture.  Hum…I wonder what surprise Boofy will be putting in her stocking this year?

Tis the Season...

It’s that time of year again, a time of love and goodwill toward men….a time of laughter and merriment, gift giving and mistletoe.  The sweet smells of baking cookies and Christmas trees waft through the air…..mixed in with a bunch of germs and gooey nastiness.

Happy Thanksgiving from ESP!

It doesn’t seem to matter what is going on in our lives or the world around us, we always have many things to be thankful for. 

 

Friends and family are the most important things.  Take the time this season to really pour on the love.  Give lots of hugs and kisses.  Laugh and have fun.  Hold hands.  Re-tell old stories.  Reminisce about those who have gone on before us.  These people are your most precious gifts….cherish them like the rarest of gems. 

Be….thankful.
